IT’S great fun making a lantern out of leaves.
That is what a group of crafty kids discovered in an Autumn-themed workshop in Wantage.
Artist Sophie Hoy showed children at Wantage community shop The Mix how to make lanterns, wreaths and pictures, all from colourful autumn leaves in a class on Saturday, October 17.
There was another seasonal session at The Mix on Saturday, when the Love Food Hate Waste campaign hosted a morning of “pumpkin possibilities”, including pumpkin games, soup and cookies.
This Saturday, there will be a workshop in building bird and bug houses out of old pallets from 10am to 1pm and Saturday, November 14, will see the return of the popular class in weaving handbags from old juice cartons.
The Mix is a not-for profit venture which is run by low-carbon community group Sustainable Wantage.
