A DIDCOT beat-boxer will join award-winning dance group Dance Connections when they perform in the town next week.
Earlier this year, Marcus Botchway, 17, from Fleet Meadow, Didcot, took part in the town’s talent competition.
He joined about 40 youngsters aged between 11 and 18 during the contest organised by Soha housing association.
On Friday, July 17, Marcus will take to the stage of the Cornerstone Arts Centre, where he will perform a new piece he has been working on since the competition.
With the help of Andy Dale, from The Vibe Studio based at The Vibe Youth Centre in Didcot, Marcus has recorded his own track.
The audiences will also be wooed by members of dance and drama training centre Dance Connection, who will perform on the Friday, at 7.30pm, and Saturday, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
The group also took part in the Soha contest and were crowned winners.
They will perform D4NCE — a high-energy fusion of routines and styles by 100 students.
So prepare to be overwhelmed.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Dance Connection’s prize-winning choreographers have divided the performance into four segments to show both the diversity of dance and the versatility of students. Tickets start from £6. For more details visit cornerstone-arts.org or contact the box office on 01235 515144.
