People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

  • Thomas Noone, 55, of Chaunterell Way, Abingdon, convicted of assault by beating in Abingdon on January 1. Six month conditional discharge. Told to pay £50 compensation, and £775 costs.
  • Aron Gibson, 31, of Kibble Close, Didcot, admitted possession of a carving knife in a public place without good reason or lawful authority in Kibble Close, Didcot, on May 20. Also admitted criminal damage to a police car in Didcot on May 20. Sent to prison for 12 weeks and told to pay £50 compensation.
  • Justin Hicks, 35, of Barns Road, Oxford, admitted entering a caravan in Willow Farm, Witney, as a trespasser and stealing a television worth £150 on August 8. Community order made with nine-month ban from Witney. Told to pay £150 compensation and £100 costs.
  • Nesawor Miah, 38, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, admitted causing annoyance, inconvenience, or anxiety, by persistently making use of a public communication network in Wasbrough Avenue, Wantage, between September 5 and 9. Also admitted criminal damage to a ground floor window at Wasbrough Avenue, Wantage, on September 6, and damaging a door and window in Wantage on September 23. Restraining and supervision orders made. Told to pay £500 compensation.
  • Luke Newell, 37, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting food worth £20.34 from Co-op in Bury Street, Abingdon, on August 9. Stole food worth £35 from the same store on August 3 and household products worth £75.93 on August 4. Also admitted shoplifting a bottle of Jack Daniels worth £23.99 from Marks & Spencers in Oxford on September 7, steaks worth £60 from Co-op in Oxford on June 12, and three pairs of sunglasses worth £545 from Vision Express in Witney on August 10. Community order made with drug rehabilitation and supervision requirements.
  • Sandra McDonald, 51, of Ivy Close, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a pair of curtains worth £17 from Primark in the Westgate, Oxford, on August 30. Also shoplifted a jacket and handbag from Marks & Spencer in Queen Street, Oxford, on August 30. Fined a total of £120, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Jake Perry, 19, of River View Terrace, Abingdon, admitted obstructing Pc Smith in the execution of his duty in Oxford Road, Abingdon, on September 19. Also admitted criminal damage to a police van at Abingdon Police Station, Colwell Drive, Abingdon, on the same day. Fined £50, £150 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £35 costs.
  • Bryn Barrick, 41, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening, abusive, or insulting words in Oxford on October 5. Also convicted of drunk and disorderly behaviour at the Post Office in St Aldate’s, Oxford, on October 18. Also guilty of assault by beating on February 27 in Oxford and breaching an anti-social behaviour order after drinking wine from an open bottle in Luther Street, Oxford, on September 17. Fined £270, £15 victims’ surcharge, and banned from the Aziz Restaurant in Cowley Road, Oxford.
  • Steve Larman, 26, of Saxton Road, Abingdon, admitted possession of cannabis in Hogarth Place, Abingdon, on September 6. Fined £120, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Jason Browne, 46, of Champion Way, Oxford, admitted shoplifting clothes worth £151.80 from Gap in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on May 25. Community order made with a two-month curfew. Told to pay £85 costs.
  • Dan Walker, 23, of Meadowside, Abingdon, guilty of fishing without a licence at Milton Common on April 15. Fined £200, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £127 costs.
  • Baber Farooq, 35, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Speedwell Street, Oxford, on April 21. Twelve-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 costs.
  • Chaniece Fisher, 23, of Nightingale Avenue, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Nightingale Avenue, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, on September 20. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 costs.
  • Chester King, 24, of Charter Way, Wallingford, admitted possession of cannabis in Charter Way, Wallingford, on September 19. Fined £100, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £40 costs.
  • Kayleigh Rowland, 26, of no fixed address, admitted shoplifting two handbags worth £68 from Kath Kidston in Broad Street, Oxford, on September 25. Community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement. Told to pay £34 compensation, with £40 costs.
  • Scott Gordon, 41, of Magdalen Road, Cowley, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in St Aldate’s, Oxford, on September 21. Also admitted possession of cannabis in Oxford on the same date. Given a 12 month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 costs.
  • Dean Lester, 40, of Wiers Lane, Oxford, admitted wilfully obstructing Pc 6650 Allen, a constable in the execution of his duty, in Oxford on May 5. Fined £100, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Ishtiaq Sarwar, 35, of Blenheim Way, Horspath, Oxford, convicted of failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis in Oxford on April 7. Community order with curfew for three weeks. Told to pay £675 costs.
  • Rebecca Bisson, 20, of Appleby Close, Banbury, admitted criminal damage to fixtures and fittings to the value of £2,175.59 between August 4, 2010, and May 5 this year in Banbury. Told to pay £600 compensation and £85 costs.
  • Daniel Gell, 43, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted criminal damage to a television and a telephone in Winchester Court, Witney, on October 7. Restraining order made and told to pay £150 compensation.
  • Leon Harrop, 26, of Home Close, Carterton, admitted assault in Market Square, Witney, on August 27. Fined £150, £100 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Mark Hedger, 28, of Edinburgh Way, Banbury, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress in South Bar Street, Banbury, on September 22. Fined £100, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
