Firefighters left the scene of a haystack fire at noon yesterday, more than 36 hours after the blaze started.
The 800 bales of hay, by the side of Hanney Road, caught fire on Tuesday evening and the road was still closed last night.
Fire and rescue service spokesman Paul Smith yesterday said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined and firefighters would regularly return to check on the hay.
