THE creation of an Oyster-like card covering all forms of transport across Oxfordshire is an exciting but logical step to take.
It will require a lot of work to sync it across the bus companies, park and ride facilities and railway companies.
But it can only be a winner for both passenger and transport provider.
There are some archaic working practices within the transport industry – for instance you can’t buy a week’s season ticket from First Great Western until the previous Friday afternoon.
County Council leader Ian Hudspeth understands you need to make things as easy as possible for customers and that technology now offers a massive boon for public transport.
