School bus gets stuck in the mud

A school bus was abandoned in a field after becoming stuck in the mud yesterday.

Up to 60 schoolchildren on their way to Wallingford School in St George’s Road had to walk or ask parents for lifts to get to their lessons.

Their double-decker bus became stranded in Ilgey Lane near Cholsey after the driver took a wrong turn and ended up on a single track, dead-end road.

Spokesman for Oxfordshire County Council, Paul Smith, said: “We have asked the operator, Tappins, to provide a report on the incident.”

Are you sure it wasn’t your reporter driving? He probably took a wrong turn looking for Ilgey Lane near Cholsey when he really wanted Ilges Lane in Cholsey!

Should have gone to Specsavers!
