CHILDREN were thrilled to see lambs being born at the Earth Trust’s lambing weekend.

Among those who visited the trust’s farm in Little Wittenham, near Didcot, on Saturday were Grove mum-of-two Catherine Hopkins with her sons Lewis, two, and Owen, five.

The 36-year-old said: “It is just a little bit different.

“It is nice for the kids to come and see lambs being born.”

Clare Williams, a student at London’s Royal Veterinary College, is on a placement at the farm for three weeks.

The Abingdon 19-year-old said: “It was an open day and I think everyone enjoyed it.

“Being here I get a different perspective. It is more practical as opposed to learning it from a book.”

There were also tractor and trailer rides, bale climbing and children’s craft activities to enjoy during the weekend.
