PROUD: Mum Janie wirth Charlie
BESOTTED parents have been entering their beautiful babies and top tots in the Oxford Mail Baby of the Year 2013 competition.
Photographers from Fraser Portraits are snapping the youngsters at Matalan in the John Allen Centre in Cowley every day from 10am-4pm until Saturday.
The winner will receive a one week holiday up to the value of £1,000, thanks to Vauxhall Holiday Park, a canvas print of their little one and a trophy, courtesy of Fraser Portraits.
Mum Janie Doran entered her seven-month-old son Charlie.
The Milton-under-Wychwood 25-year-old said: “A lot of family members mentioned the competition to me.
“I think the prize is brilliant and the pictures are lovely. I love having his picture taken.”
Every entrant will be featured in a special supplement in the Oxford Mail on Tuesday, April 23.
Readers will then be able to vote for their favourite by text, phone or coupon.
Last year, 12,000 postal, phone and text votes were made and 400 babies entered.
Andy Gale, Fraser Portraits photographer, said: “Oxford always offers fantastic, smiling babies to be photographed.
“We want more entries to come in. There is a fantastic prize this year, so there is a great incentive.”
There are three categories: up to nine months, 10 to 18 months and 19 to 36 months. There will be one winner and runners-up from the other two categories.
