WE know that legally Didcot A Power Station has to close but the warning of potential black-outs by 2015 is a major concern.
Cynics may believe that the power companies are sabre-rattling to try to get leeway to circumvent regulations and plunder more profits.
But ultimately if this, a first world country, ends up with electricity shortages and great piles of rubble where power stations once stood then the Government’s energy policy has failed.
