RESIDENTS in Didcot are being asked what sporting facilities should feature in a £15m proposal for a leisure centre.

The centre will be part of a new 2,030-home development on land north of the Ladygrove estate, next to the town’s northern perimeter road.

Early plans for the new estate, on land owned by Reading University, were submitted by Croudace Homes earlier this year but no planning application has yet been submitted to South Oxfordshire District Council.

As well as the leisure centre, the new estate will include a secondary school, two primary schools and a care home.

The district council will hold consultation meetings and is running an online survey to find out what people think.

Bill Service, cabinet member for leisure at South Oxfordshire District Council, said residents can sign up to didcot leisure.com for updates
