CANCER survivor Anthony Weston’s naked ambition to save lives is a bit of an eye-opener.

After all, it’s not every day that a man of 61 gets his kit off for a new poster to raise awareness of testicular cancer.

The full frontal, no holds barred shot of Anthony in all his glory will no doubt provoke a few titters and a spot of leg pulling from his mates.

But his strip, for an Oxford charity’s poster campaign which will appear in gyms and health clubs across the county this summer, has a deadly serious purpose.

Anthony, from Didcot, was diagnosed with the condition in August 2007 but went on to have successful surgery and chemotherapy at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital.

He says the poster is ‘pretty upfront’ in its message, but that it needs to be as the aim is to encourage people to come forward and get themselves checked.

So let’s grow up, stop smirking and giggling, and face this issue head on.

For some it will be a matter of life and death...
