FIREFIGHTERS across Oxfordshire are due to walk out again tonight in protest at changes to their pay and conditions.

The Fire Brigades Union has called the four-hour strike, which starts at 6pm, because of proposals to make firemen and women work until they are 60 and pay more into their pension schemes.

It follows the walk-out over the same period last night. The fire service has said 21 of its 34 fire engines will be available.

The authority also has an agreement with the local branch of the FBU that industrial action will be broken if a serious incident occurs.

Anyone who needs assistance is encouraged to call 999 as normal.
