THE 17-year-old arrested in connection with the disappearance of Jayden Parkinson has been charged with assisting an offender. 

The teenager from Didcot, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of assisting an offender between December 3-10. 

He will appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court this afternoon. 

A 22-year-old, Ben Blakeley, from Christchurch Road in Reading, was last night charged with murder and perverting the course of justice in relation to the case and appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court today. 

Jayden, 17, has not been seen since Tuesday, December 3 and a murder investigation has been launched but a body has not been found.

Police officers are currently combing the countryside between Didcot and Upton, as well as a grassed area in Lydalls Road, Didcot, in the search for clues as to what happened to Jayden.

She is white, of slim build with shoulder length dark brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen on CCTV footage leaving Didcot Parkway at around 4.30pm on December 3.
