POLICE have confirmed that there has been a suggestion 17-year-old Jayden Parkinson may have been pregnant when she went missing.

In a statement Det Chf Supt Andrew Murray said: "During the course of the investigation there has been some suggestion that Jayden may be pregnant.

"At this time we simply don't have any way of confirming whether this is correct or not."

It emerged as Jayden's boyfriend faced court charged with murdering the missing teenager.

Ben Blakeley, 22, was remanded in custody by magistrates in Oxford on charges of murder and perverting the course of justice.

A 17-year-old, who the media is banned from naming, was also remanded in custody accused of helping Blakeley dispose of Jayden’s body.

About 100 police officers were yesterday still focusing their search for Jayden’s body in Upton and Didcot, nearly two weeks after she was last seen on Tuesday, December 3.

Blakeley appeared in Court One at Oxford Magistrates’ Court at 10am yesterday to face the charges of murder and perverting the course of justice.
