West Way plans go in

Herald Series: . .

Plans for a cinema, shops and 600 student rooms in West Way, Botley, are due to be submitted tomorrow.

Doric Properties hopes to submit a planning application to Vale of White Horse District Council for the redevelopment of the West Way Shopping Centre and surrounding land.

The plans have attracted widespread criticism from local residents, who organised a 2,200-name protest petition.

Oxford City Council is also objecting, saying the proposed development was too large, would generate too much traffic and would adversely affect city centre shops.
