SOME seven-year-olds could give you a list of 74 presents they would like for themselves this Christmas.

But Megan Yardley collected 74 presents for other children who are less lucky than her.

Megan, who lives in Ypres Way, Abingdon, threw a party earlier this month for all her classmates from St Nicolas Primary Shool, their family and their parents.

The price of entry for each person was one present for a disadvantaged child.

Megan said: “We had 40 children there with some parents and teachers.

“I wanted to raise presents because there are a lot of children that haven’t got anything.

“I am very lucky.”

She put the party on at Peachcroft Social Club in Abingdon on Saturday afternoon, even using her own pocket money to pay for the booking.

At the party she put on a disco, games and food and drink.

She has now donated all the presents to the charity KidsOut, which specialises in helping disadvantaged children.

Megan’s mum Louise Yardley said: “I am always a proud mum, but especially today.”

Abingdon Tesco donated £50 for the food and drink.
