THE flooding has caused widespread problems. Roads have been affected, properties damaged and trains delayed.
Yet the situation has to be looked at in a fair light. What has happened this week is not as bad as the flooding of 2007.
And we must recognise the efforts of the Environment Agency, the fire service, council staff and other officials in preventing things from getting worse.
Anyone who has been out and about will have seen the tireless work taking place to keep the county waters at bay.
It might not have solved everything – but it could have been a lot worse.
