RESIDENTS living near Abingdon were woken during the early hours of today by the police helicopter assisting officers pursuing a car.
Thames Valley Police in patrol cars stopped a vehicle in Thrupp Lane, Radley, after midnight, and made three arrests.
Francine Rodrigues, a spokesman for the force, said one man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving while another two men were arrested on drug-related offences.
One of the men is still in custody.
Former journalist Sue Fisher, who lives in Thrupp Lane with husband Robin, said: “We were kept awake between midnight and 2am by the helicopter above us for over an hour, and the patrol cars with their lights on.
“It looked like they were searching for someone.”
