AN appeal has gone out to county firms to send their views on the impact of flooding on their business.

With many businesses once again underwater this week, the results will be used as vital information for the Oxfordshire Flooding Summit which will take place next month.

Nigel Tipple, chief executive of the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, which has organised the survey in association with Oxford law firm Withy King, said: “It is vital the survey covers as many of Oxfordshire’s firms as possible to give us a complete and accurate picture of how the floods have affected business.

“I urge them to take time to contribute, comment and help us make an effective contribution to a strategy to cope better with excessive rainfall.”

Withy King partner Mark Emery said: “We know from the businesses we speak to that a large number have been affected.

It’s essential that local and central government and support organisations understand the true extent of the damage and disruption caused to businesses so they can develop robust strategies to deal with the aftermath of the most recent floods as well as to mitigate the effects in future.

“We hope the survey will provide the information needed to make a real difference to the decision-making process.”

The flooding summit will take place on March 21.
