AN ABINGDON lock-keeper has rescued two people from dangerous floodwaters within a week, the Environment Agency has confirmed.
Richard Hawkins raced into action at Abingdon Lock on Saturday morning to save a boater who had fallen into the Thames.
He pulled the man out the river before steering his narrowboat, which had broken from its moorings, to the riverside.
Six days earlier he rescued a young boy after he slipped into the river.
