The proposed HS2 rail line that will run through the north of the county could lead to increased flooding, two Conservative MPs have warned.
Aylesbury MP David Lidlington said the project would involve building on land that is currently used to protect homes from flooding. Chesham and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan said the scale of the scheme would increase flood risks.
A spokesman for the project said the railway would withstand extreme weather similar to the recent storms and floods that swept through Britain.
