A 32-year-old man has admitted voyeurism after installing a camera in the female changing rooms at Abingdon police station.
Christopher Richardson-Blake, formerly of Foxdown Terrace, Wellington, Somerset, pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism and one count of theft at Oxford Crown Court today.
He was contracted to carry out electrical work at the police station but in September 2013 a camera was discovered in the female changing room.
Richardson-Blake was subsequently arrested and charged on November 9.
A stolen laptop was also discovered at his home.
Supt Andy Boyd, Abingdon LPA commander, said: “This was a particularly brazen offence in which Christopher Richardson-Blake installed a camera in a female changing room.
“This demonstrated a complete lack of respect and a deliberate intrusion into their privacy.
“We are pleased Richardson-Blake took the decision to plead guilty today in the face of overwhelming evidence and so the victims of this offence are at least spared a trial.”
Richardson-Blake will be sentenced on April 3.
