There is no plan to review any Thames Valley Police undercover operations after allegations a Metropolitan Police officer spied on the family of murdered Stephen Lawrence.

Home Secretary Theresa May has announced a public inquiry into undercover policing after the revelation earlier this month.

Thames Valley Police Chief Constable Sara Thornton was part of the London’s force’s Lawrence Review Team in 1997, but declined to comment when asked about her role.

A Force spokeswoman also said Thames Valley Police had never had an equivalent of the Met’s undercover unit - Special Demonstration Squad (SDS).
