Pub reopens after firm’s administration

A VILLAGE pub near Abingdon which closed when its management company went into administration has now reopened.

The Flowing Well in Sunningwell closed to customers between Christmas and New Year after Town & Country Pub Company went into administration.

Staff held a party to celebrate its reopening with locals earlier this month.

Donice Sousa owns the business which has taken over the lease and her stepson David Fletcher, 24, and his girlfriend Nicole Brennan, 21, are the new managers.

Ms Sousa said the pub was tied to Greene King, which is providing the beers and ciders, although there could be one or two guest beers.

Ms Brennan said she and Mr Fletcher had previously worked at The Star Inn in Woodstock and would be living at The Flowing Well.

She added: “It’s a family business and we want it to do well – so far everyone who has come in has been very supportive.”

Sunningwell parish council clerk Brian Rixon said: “The feedback has been very positive.”

ANOTHER Greene King boozer?

Not what Abingdon needs at all, and highly unlikely people will travel to it now that there is improved choice in The Don itself.
