Banbury Magistrates' Court

  • William Carberry, 87, of Bosleys Orchard, Grove, admitted speeding over the 30mph limit In Grove Road on August 10 and August 12 last year. Fined a total £270 and ordered to pay £130 costs and a £20 victims’ surcharge. Driving licence endorsed with three penalty points, but no totting-up driving disqualification was imposed, because of the potential effect on his wife, who has to attend hospital appointments for a heart condition.
     
  • Peter Hitchman, 60 of Westfield Road, Benson, near Wallingford, admitted speeding over the 30mph limit on Beggarbush Hill, Benson, on August 29 last year. Fined £465 and ordered to pay a £47 victim surcharge and £65 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
     
  • Paul Connor, 35, of West Street, Banbury, admitted stealing a £300 pedal cycle from a man in Bicester on October 2 last year. Given a community order with supervision requirement and ordered to pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
     
  • Lisa-Marie Parker, 28, of Briary Way, Shilton Park, Carterton, admitted failing to comply with a community order made by Banbury Magistrates’ Court on December 18 last year by failing to attend a home visit appointment on February 20. Fined £50.
     
  • Benjamin Marles, 28, of Middle Hill, Hook Norton, admitted assaulting two men by beating them in Netting Street, Hook Norton, on July 20 last year. Also admitted possessing 1.14g of Psilocin, a Class A drug, and a quantity of cannabis at home on July 25, and 0.18g of diazepam, a Class C drug, at home on September 1. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and fined £845. Also ordered to pay £600 compensation to assault victims, £435 costs and a £55 victim surcharge.
     
  • Paul Clarke, 32, of Rotary Way, Banbury, admitted stealing £225 worth of meat from the Co-op in Banbury on February 4, 12 and 24. Also admitted committing an offence while subject to a conditional discharge given by Banbury Magistrates’ Court for theft on August 9 last year. Given a community order with a six-week curfew to remain at home between 7pm and 6am. Also ordered to pay £225 compensation.
     
  • Hayley Cox, 31, of Brome Place, Headington, Oxford, admitted stealing £59.98 worth of clothes from Sportsworld in Oxford on September 25 last year, groceries of unknown value from Sainsbury’s in Bicester on September 25 and a home alarm system worth £199 from B&Q in Abingdon on September 7. Fined £60 and ordered to pay £199 compensation, £30 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
     
  • Jose Phillips, 52, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress outside the Steppin Stone drop-in centre in Magdalen Road, Oxford, on January 23 and February 18. Also admitted failing to answer bail at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on March 14, having been released on bail on February 27. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £30 costs.
     
  • Adrian Fannon, 35, of Evenlode, Banbury, admitted stealing six hanging baskets, worth £30, from Homebase in Banbury. Given a community order with a five-week curfew to stay at home between the hours of 7pm and 7am and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
     
  • Jimoh Hassan-Sule, 22, of Glyndebourne Gardens, Banbury, was convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause people to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them in Banbury on August 22 last year. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £350 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
     
  • Lee Ritchie, 20, of West View, Somerton, Bicester, admitted causing criminal damage to property under £5,000 by smashing a vehicle’s windows and lights in West View, Somerton, on January 1. Given a community order, with 100 hours of unpaid work to be carried out in the next year. Also ordered to pay £250 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.

  • Gary Dallimore, 34, of Haydon Road, Didcot, admitted drink-driving in Didcot on March 19. Had 51 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted driving without due care and attention in Haydon Road on August 6 last year and driving without a licence. Fined a total of £560, a £40 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 12 months.
     
  • Joshua Derosa, 19, of St Nicholas Road, Wallingford, admitted assault by beating in Bridge Street, Witney, on January 23. Also admitted criminal damage to a door belonging to the Court Inn Hotel in Bridge Street, Witney, on January 23. Sent to prison for eight weeks.
     
  • Jason Stanmore, 28, of Shepherds Hill, Greater Leys, Oxford, admitted shoplifting perfume sets worth £64.95 from B&M Bargains in Cowley on November 21 last year. Also admitted stealing four bottles of Jack Daniel’s whiskey worth £90 from Tesco in Cowley Road, Oxford, on November 14, seven bottles of Jack Daniel’s worth £175 from Tesco in Ambassador Avenue, Cowley, on October 16, eight bottles of Jack Daniel’s worth £200 from Tesco in Ambassador Avenue, Cowley, on October 23, and six bottles of Jack Daniel’s worth £120 from the Co-op in Templars Square, Cowley, on October 28. Admitted criminal damage to a fire door at Tesco in Ambassador Avenue, Cowley, on October 23, and convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence in Cowley Road on November 14. Sent to prison for 22 weeks.
     
  • Lee Chalk, 30, of Doyley Road, Wallingford, admitted criminal damage to a Toyota, a door handle and a mountain bike in Wigod Way, Wallingford, on February 23. Told to pay £100 compensation and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
     
  • Nadine Donson, 40, of Nettlebed Mead, Oxford, admitted driving without insurance in Barns Road, Oxford, on October 18 last year. Fined £200, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
     
  • Ben Houghton, 41, admitted possession of cannabis in Partridge Walk, Oxford, and damaging a blanket at Abingdon police station in Colwell Drive, Abingdon, on February 15. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.
     
  • Martin Lamond, 23, of Magnette Close, Abingdon, admitted stealing an Xbox 360, a laptop computer, an iPod, T-shirt and £300 cash from Thames View, Abingdon, on January 5. Sent to prison for 28 days.
     
  • Matthew Curtis, 34, of Lansdown Road, Faringdon, admitted driving without insurance in Bampton on October 10 last year. Fined £600, a £60 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
     
  • Mark Hughes, 49, of Bartholomew Road, Oxford, admitted driving without insurance in Oxford Road, Abingdon, on October 17 last year. Fined £110, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
