Bishop of Oxford's stance on gay marriage unclear

Herald Series: Rt Rev John Pritchard Rt Rev John Pritchard

The Bishop of Oxford has refused to say whether or not he supports gay marriage.

The Rt Rev John Pritchard was speaking after same-sex marriage became legal in the UK on Saturday.

He said: “I want to celebrate with those who are taking the opportunity to mark their love and commitment to each other as a result of the new legislation.

“However, the Church still has to think through the implications of such a significant change in understanding about marriage and this will take time.”

Really Bish? Surely either you already have a complete set of rules and regulations as laid down by your invisible overlord, or you just make it all up as you go along.

I think Allah has a well known view and that celebrants in Mock Marriages may find their lot a little uncomfortable in this world and the next. Should've asked the Imam.
