YOUNGSTERS will gather tomorrow to play a football match in memory of their friend Mateusz Kucinski.
The 12-year-old cyclist died after he was involved in a collision with a car on the A420 near Southmoor on Saturday afternoon.
Friends are now to play a game in his memory on the Millennium Green in the village from 1pm tomorrow.
The Matthew Arnold School pupil, who was known as Matty and lived in Cherrytree Close, was pronounced dead at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital following the incident at the junction with Charney Road.
The former John Blandy Primary School pupil, who was an only child, was born in Poland before he moved to Southmoor with his parents.
Last night no date had been set for the opening of an inquest at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court.
There have been calls to improve safety on the A420 following the fatal collision, which came after a Swindon man in his 30s died in a crash on the road on April 6.
Kingston Bagpuize and Southmoor Parish Council has asked Melinda Tilley, Oxfordshire County councillor for the village, to question highways officers about cutting the speed limit near the village.
Council bosses at Vale of White Horse District, Oxfordshire County and Swindon Borough councils have also agreed to look at potential safety improvements on the road.
