A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed after losing control of his machine and coming off at the bend of a road.

The 65-year-old, from Grove, was treated by paramedics but declared dead at the scene of the accident on the A329 Newington Road near Warborough.

Thames Valley Police said the victim, who was on a silver BMW bike, was travelling with two other motorcyclists before the incident at about 3.10pm on Thursday.

Richard Allen, owner of the H Cafe in Berinsfield, which is a popular meeting point for motorcyclists, yesterday said he was saddened by the news.

He said he had not heard who had died, but added that nine motorcyclists he had known from the cafe had been killed since he took over more than four years ago.

Mr Allen added: “It is horrible. When you know them it hits home more.”

But he said bikers were aware of the dangers, adding: “It is just the nature of the hobby.”

Pc Kev Crick has urged anyone with information about the accident to call police on 101.
