AN audience will be treated to a knock-out performance in Didcot.

Fighters from South Moreton Boxing Club squared up to the star of Bitch Boxer ahead of her performance at the Cornerstone Arts Centre.

Actress Holly Augustine stars on the one-woman show and was thrilled to see the boxers in action.

The 21-year-old from Finchley in North London said: “I am really excited about the production.”

She stars as boxer Chloe, who hopes to win a place at the 2012 London Olympics.

Miss Augustine added: “From the moment Nicola Adams won gold at the London Olympics, I think people have started to pay attention. There were a few women in the clubs and I think it is only going to increase further.

“It is a really exciting time for boxing.”

Chris Smith, 22, Terry Russell, 21 and John Houston, 53, ducked and weaved with the actress at the club.

Cornerstone director Emma Dolman said: “This isn’t just a show for boxing and sports fans. It is a poignant and beautiful tale about Chloe’s personal battle with grief and loss.”
