A village gastro pub at Fyfield near Abingdon has been told it needs to urgently improve its hygiene.
The White Hart was given a zero star food hygiene rating out of a possible five stars by Vale of White Horse District Council after its April 17 inspection.
The inspector rated food hygiene and safety as “poor”, structural compliance as “bad”, and said there is “little confidence in management”.
Kay and Mark Chandler, who have owned the White Hart for eight-and-a-half years, said they will appeal. Mrs Chandler said: “There is no question over the hygiene of our kitchen, Mark is obsessive about health and safety. The problem was because Mark had not filled out the right amount of detail in a book and because our dry store wasn’t technically pest-proof.”
