RAIL passengers across Oxfordshire are being encouraged to share a lift to the train station as part of a new initiative.
First Great Western has teamed up with car pooling company Liftshare to help cut down on the number of vehicles travelling to the county’s stations.
A dedicated website has been set up to allow rail customers to sign up for free and then meet like-minded car poolers.
Liftshare’s head of membership Cecilia Bromley-Martin said: “Sharing lifts reduces the stress of a commute, as well as saving you money and makes the journey safer.”
First Great Western says just over a quarter of commuters currently car share when travelling to work.
