CRY Havoc Morris dancers sang and danced farewell to their favourite landlords, Phil and Karen Middleton.
The couple, aged 56 and 54, have run the Prince of Wales pub in Shippon for four years and hosted Cry Havoc many times, but are stepping down to have “a rest”. Last year, the village pub hosted the side’s 20th birthday bash.
As a thank-you, Cry Havoc put on a final dance last Thursday for their friends at the pub.
Secretary Charlotte Ritchie, 63, said: “They have been fantastic landlords and done a lot to welcome folk dancers and singers. It was a beautiful, balmy evening and we stayed until 11pm playing music.”
The side also made a £500 donation to the couple’s chosen charity, Helen and Douglas House children and young adults’ hospice in East Oxford.
