THE Manor Prep School in Abingdon has been rated “outstanding” by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
Inspectors who visited the school’s nursery and reception on May 13 and 14 said “The quality and standards... are outstanding”.
The department was given the highest grade in all four areas judged – how well provision meets the needs of children, the contribution of the early years provision to children’s well-being, leadership and management and overall quality and standard.
The report, published this month, said boys and girls at The Manor felt “safe and valued”.
Head of early years foundation stage Pippa McConnell said: “We are truly delighted with the outcome of our fourth inspection. It has shown that the children really are at the centre of what we do and it recognises how well the members of staff know the children.
“Our ethos has shone through.
“We are really proud of the children who welcomed our visitors with great enthusiasm – one little girl asked them to stay forever.”
She added: “It was a huge team effort and without everybody’s continual dedication and hard work it would not have been possible.”
Headmaster Piers Heyworth said: “We are absolutely delighted with this excellent result.”
