THE weird and the wonderful descended on the village of Steventon, near Didcot, yesterday.

Truck Festival got off to a flying start with thousands of people descending on Hill Farm to listen to music and have a good time.

Los Campesinos!, The Cribs and Accollective all took to the stage yesterday while festival-goers soaked up the sun.

The event was founded 17 years ago by musician Robin Bennett and his brother Joe when he invited a group of friends to a celebrate his birthday in a field.

It is now attended by some 5,000 people and features 150 bands.

White Lies, Stornoway and Andrew WK will all take to the stage today.
