A MAN has been arrested after a woman was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in Abingdon on Saturday.

The woman was with two other people when she was approached by a man at the corner of Stert Street and the Vineyard between 10.30pm and 11pm.

A man, who was described as white, in his early thirties and of a large build, threatened the woman and demanded money.

Police said the suspect had short balding hair, was wearing jeans and a hooded top and was 5ft 7in tall.

The woman who was threatened has not yet come forward.

A 31-year-old man from Abingdon has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed until November 8.
