POLICE want to speak to a man in connection with an assault on a taxi driver in Abingdon in September.

Officers released images yesterday of the man they want to speak to in connection with the attack, which happened in Abingdon Road, Steventon, at about 3.45am on 21 September.

The taxi driver was assaulted by a passenger, who punched him in the face and back of the head when he stopped to drop him off.

The driver was left with a bleeding nose and bruising to the back of his head.

The offender then walked away along Hanney Road and the driver found some cash was missing from his car.

Investigating officer PC Ian Dring said: “I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image who may be able to assist us with our investigation.”
