BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  1.  Iain McGregor, 64, of Kennet Close, Grove, Wantage, admitted speeding at 39mph in a 30mph road, Mably Way, Wantage, on March 4. Fined £135 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. No totting disqualification imposed because he supports his brother and he needs to use his car for his job, but given three points on his driving licence.
  2. Yisa Hassan-Sule, 30, of Glyndebourne Gardens, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the community requirement of a suspended sentence made on October 8 by failing to attend unpaid work on October 31. Three-month suspended sentence imposed.
  3. Tracey Jones, 50, of Willowmead, Chalgrove, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with lane closures of flashing light signals in Oxford on March 13. Fined £100 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given three points on his driving licence.
  4. Mark Tarling, 38, of Elderfield Road, Bicester, admitted causing criminal damage worth £634.22 to a Vauxhall Corsa in Caversfield on August 9. Restraining order made banning contact with the car’s owner and fined £100. Also told to pay £634.22 compensation and a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  5. Luke Wallington, 23, of Oxford Lane, Grove, near Wantage, admitted using a mobile phone or handheld device while driving in Bridge Street, Abingdon, on January 30. Fined £135 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. No totting disqualification imposed because he needs his car for work and would lose his job, but three points were added to his driving licence.
  6. Delowar Chowdhury, 70, of Pauling Road, Headington, Oxford, convicted of keeping an unlicensed motor vehicle on a public road, Temple Road, Oxford, on July 30. Fined £400 and told to pay £95.42 in vehicle excise back duty and £90 costs.
  7. Mark Collins, 40, of St Mary’s, Wantage, convicted of having a vehicle registered in his name that did not meet insurance requirements in Stevenage on April 2. Fined £200 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £110 costs.
  8. Alieen Baker, 34, of Kames Close, Oxford, convicted of using a colour television without a licence between June 11 and July 12. Fined £250 and told to pay a £25 victims’ surcharge and £120 costs.
  9. Emma Ballantyne, 27, of Lambourn Road, Oxford, convicted of using a colour television without a licence on August 3. Fined £300 and told to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £120 costs.
  10. Daniel Goodwin, 26, of Reedmace Road, Bicester, admitted drink-driving on a road near Islip, on October 2. Had 146mg of alcohol in 100ml of urine, above the legal limit of 107mg. Given a 12-month driving ban and told to pay a £450 fine, a £45 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  11. Ashley Hennessey, 30, of Anson Way, Bicester, admitted causing criminal damage worth £1,013.92 to a vending machine in Bicester on September 28. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £1,013.92 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

OXFORD MAGISTRATES

12. Nicola Ewens, 36, of Bonar Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted stealing £148.94 worth of alcohol from Co-op in Cowley on May 12 and £94.28 worth on May 9. Admitted failing to answer bail at Cowley Police Station on May 27 and stealing £32.50 worth of clothes from Asda Living in Oxford on July 12 and having heroin, a Class A drug, at Abingdon Police Station on October 15. Also admitted stealing £110 worth of beef from Co-op in Headington. Given a community order requiring six months of drug dependency treatment and 12 months of supervision.

13. Matthew Graham, 37, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing two jars of coffee worth a total of £10 from Tesco in Oxford on August 29. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.

14. Shane Loveridge, 21, of Mably Grove, Wantage, was convicted of sexually touching a 13-year-old girl in Oxford on May 4. Sent to prison for six weeks and ordered to pay £80 compensation and £100 costs.

15. Ben Nennstiel, 20, of White Horse Crescent, Grove, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Uffington on October 14. Fined £150 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

16. Mathew Osborne, 35, of Idstone Road, Ashbury, admitted stealing a bottle of vodka and a grill worth a total of £30.98 from B&M Bargains in Wantage on July 24. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £230.98 compensation, with two other offences taken into consideration, and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

17. David Wellman, 41, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted wilfully obstructing Pc Spencer Treherne in the execution of his duty in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on October 31. Fined £50 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.

18. Ian Castle, 36, of Violet Way, Oxford, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Elder Way, Oxford, between February 1 and March 31 and again on a date between May 1 and May 31. Given a four-month prison sentence suspended for two years and a 24-month supervision requirement. Also ordered to attend a building better relationships course for five days. Restraining order made against the victim until further notice and ordered to pay £300 compensation, an £80 victims’ surcharge and £300 costs.

19. Naomi McCollin, 26, of Blay Close, Oxfordshire, admitted stealing £60 worth of make-up from Lloyds pharmacy in Oxford on June 24 and attempting to steal two bottles of vodka, worth £28, from Co-op in Kennington on July 2. Given a community order requiring six months of drug dependency treatment and ordered to pay £60 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

20. Nainesh Patel, 47, of Banbury Road, Oxford, was convicted of having a carving knife in a public place, Banbury Road, Oxford, on August 9. Ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year and pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £775 costs.

21. Adrian Begley, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence made by Hastings and Eastbourne Magistrates’ Court on March 12. Given a suspended sentence of three months suspended for two years and given an 18-month supervision requirement.
