THREE branches of B&Q in Oxfordshire could be at risk after the DIY firm announced the mass closure of stores around the country. It was confirmed yesterday that 60 branches will shut over the next two years as part of a restructure.

This follows a review of the 360-strong B&Q estate by parent company Kingfisher, which also owns Screwfix. B&Q annual profits have recently seen a 7.5 per cent drop.

A spokesman said B&Q could not yet confirm which branches would be axed.

Oxfordshire branches include three “supercentres” in Abingdon, Witney and Banbury.
