OXFORD MAGISTRATES

Jakob Habuda, 25, of no fixed address, admitted stealing two pork fillets worth £10 from a Tesco store in Cowley Road, Oxford, on April 4. Given a three-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Karl James, 40, of Caldecott Road, Abingdon, admitted stealing meat products worth £97.55 and a toothbrush worth £90 from a Tesco store in Marcham Road, Abingdon, on March 21. Fined £50 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £20 costs.

Craig Wicks, 35, of no fixed address, admitted begging in Gloucester Green, Oxford, on December 8, 2014. Fined £50 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £20 costs.

Peter Quinn, 21, of Crescent Road, Oxford, admitted assaulting PC Ben Little in the execution of his duty in St Ebbe’s, Oxford, on February 15. Also admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Oxford on the same day. Jailed for a total of four months because he had similar previous convictions. Also ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.

Arron Gardner, 29, of Clarks Row, Oxford, admitted assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty at Templars Square, Oxford, on March 27. Also admitted assaulting a man by beating him at the same time. Also admitted stealing two shirts from a Shaw Trust charity shop in Pound Way, Oxford, on March 27. Also admitted possessing heroin, a Class A drug, at Abingdon Police Station on March 27. Jailed for 42 days.

Antonio Gouveia, 36, of Peachcroft Road, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Wentworth Road, Oxford, on March 23. Had 92 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Given a 36-month driving ban and fined £300. Also ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Sonny Lindo, 30, of Walton Well Road, Oxford, admitted driving while banned from having a licence on the M25 between Junctions 10 to 9 on March 16. Also admitted driving without insurance at the same time. Was on a suspended sentence for the same offence issued on August 29, 2014. Jailed for a total of 14 weeks.

Megan Turvey, 19, of Oxford Road, Banbury, was convicted of assaulting a woman by beating her in Oxford on August 28, 2014. Ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and given a restraining order not to contact the victim in any way. Also ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £200 costs.

Ian Lindsay, 41, of Northampton Road, Oxford, admitted stealing £60 of meat from a Co-op in Headington, Oxford, on March 30, and six jars of coffee worth £23.96 from a Tesco store in Abingdon on March 25. Told to pay £23.94 compensation.

Stuart Nicholson, 38, of Nursery Close, Oxford, admitted stealing six bottles of spirits and champagne worth £445.92 from a Tesco store in Faringdon on January 18, 12 bottles of champagne worth £443.88 from a Tesco store in Faringdon on January 19, seven bottles of spirits worth £94 from a Waitrose store in Witney on January 19, and clothing worth £94.94 from New Look in Wantage on April 8. Given a 12-week prison sentence because of the high value of the goods stolen and his record of previous convictions.

Gordon McKay, 40, of Sutton Wick Lane, Drayton, near Abingdon, was convicted of two counts of assault by beating in Drayton on July 22. Also admitted stealing clothes worth £144.87 from New Look in Bury Street, Abingdon on March 20, food worth £28.99 from the Co-op in Bury Street, Abingdon, on March 20, and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on October 10 for theft. Given a 10-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months for the amount of force used and the breach of trust involved in the assault. Also made subject to a supervision requirement for 12 months.

Ricky Kilroy, 32, of Queensway, Didcot, admitted handling a stolen Kawasaki motocross bike worth £3,500 in Didcot on February 24. Given a three-week prison sentence because of the high value of the bike and his poor record of previous convictions. Also told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.

Rigoberto Fernandez, 18, of Chillingworth Crescent, Oxford, admitted common assault in Park End Street, Oxford, on November 29. He was also convicted of assaulting Pc Shepherd in the execution of their duty in Park End Street, Oxford, on the same date. Given a six-month conditional discharge and fined £200. Also told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £650 costs.

Carol Dawson, 54, of Thornley Close, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Abingdon, on March 22. She had 63 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Given an 18-month driving ban and fined £300. She was also ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Mihai Leca, 27, of White House Road, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Abingdon Road, Oxford, on March 21. Had 77 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted driving without insurance. Given a 20-month driving ban and fined £400. Also ordered to pay £40 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

Adam Chambers, 28, of Gibbs Crescent, Oxford, was convicted of stealing £5 worth of Sandwiches from Co-op in Bicester on December 14. Also admitted failing to answer bail at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on March 16 and admitted committing an offence while subject to a suspended sentence for criminal damage. Given a 28-day prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £5 compensation and fined £50.
