Oxford Bus Company has said that the heavy congestion has caused the City 5 service to terminate early at Gloucester Green, and services using the Botley Road would be heavily delayed.

Passengers planning on taking buses to the Thornhill Park and Ride have been advised to walk to St Aldates and get a different bus.

The traffic has been caused by the closure of the A420 westbound between the A34 and Cumnor at the Botley Interchange.

Oxfordshire County Council closed the carriageway last week to complete emergency road works and correct a 10cm subsidence on the road.

This road is expected to be closed for another seven weeks.
