CRADLING his baby sister Derin, this is a teenage Jed Allen, the man suspected of killing her and their mother in a house in Didcot.

The picture – posted on Facebook by Jan Jordon, whose body was found inside the home in Vicarage Road along with partner Philip Howard, 44, and six-year-old Derin – emerged last night as the hunt for Allen continued.

The three victims had only recently moved into the house after living in Wensum Drive on the Ladygrove estate, where Allen was a regular visitor.

Last night soft toys and flowers were building up under a street sign at Vicarage Road, with touching tributes from shocked loved ones.

One message addressed to the three victims and “my gorgeous boy Jed” read: “I always said Jan you were too kind for this world.

“My heart is broken and will never be the same again.

“You all have left a massive void in my heart which will never be filled.”

Former neighbour in Wensum Drive, Riz Marino, 25, said: “Jan was really nice and the little girl was your usual cheerful little girl who went to school everyday.

“The only time I ever saw Jed was when he came in and out from work. It was after he moved in with them that they started looking for a bigger place.”

Amy Bowley now lives in the family’s former Wensum Drive home and said she had only met Philip once.

Philip Howard

She said: “I have been sending on their post to their new address [in Vicarage Road].

“Phil came round about two weeks ago to check the water.

“They left before I moved in, I presumed [Janet] had two kids from a previous marriage, so the boy [Jed] was from previous I understand.

“Apparently [Jed] just kept coming and going.

“It is shocking that it is just down the road.”

Those living close to where the three bodies were found said they were shocked by the “heartbreaking” news.

Many had seen Ms Jordon, Mr Howard and Derin out and about but did not recognise Allen as having also moved in to the property in Vicarage Road. Angela McIntyre, whose Wessex Road home looks out onto Vicarage Road, said: “It is absolutely shocking.

Police at the scene in Didcot

“I just cannot believe something like this could happen in a little town like Didcot, almost on my door step. It is heartbreaking.”

Another resident of Wessex Road, Caroline Barlow, said: “It is quite unsettling, it unnerves people. You hear about these things but not on your doorstep.”

Mohammed Khan, who lives across the road from where the three were found, said: “I do not really know them but have seen them going past.

“They seemed like a normal family. It is just shocking.

“This is quite an ordinary area. Nothing violent ever happens. It is always quiet and calm.

“It is scary because it was so close on my street. I do not know how anyone can do anything like that.”
