YOUNGSTERS embarked on a wild adventure this week, as part of the Earth Trust’s holiday activity week.
Clumps club, which is running until tomorrow, offers a group of 20 children the opportunity to enjoy different activities in the woodland in Little Wittenham near Didcot each day.
Niamh Gara, 12, from Ambrosden, was one such youngster who enjoyed the woodland activities on Monday, which included fire-lighting, building a den and wood-casting.
She said: “It was brilliant fun. My favourite part was making objects out of logs in the woods.”
Yesterday, children were given the chance to become a warden for the day, by building a habitat pile in the woods, completing a bird survey and taking part in a wildflower challenge.
Today, there will be sculpture making, whittling using pen knives and an activity involving creating natural dyes.
Tomorrow a foraging walk and grain milling will take place in the morning, followed by cooking lunch on the outdoor fire and apple pressing.
