ABINGDON’S very own Elsa and Anna will have no time to build a snowman this week as they are busy preparing for a Frozen ballet show at the town’s Christmas lights switch-on.

Emily Grindey, 14, who plays Anna, and Eve Barrett, 13, who is Elsa, are practising their points and plies ready for the Abingdon Christmas Extravaganza on Saturday.

They are among 16 girls and boys from Abingdon Youth Ballet (AYB) who will star in the show, which tells the story of Disney favourite Frozen.

Emily, who goes to Larkmead School and wants to be a ballet teacher, said: “I love it. My brother and sister are in the performance.”

Eve, who goes to Fitzharrys School, said: “I’m excited. It’s quite scary but at the end when they all clap you feel so nice because they came to see you. It makes you really happy.”

The 40-minute performances are at 1pm and 3.15pm in the barn at the Crown and Thistle pub.
