Police are planning a thorough investigation into a crash, which killed a cyclist in Oxford on Friday night. 

The incident, which involved a heavy goods vehicle, happened at about 10.15pm on the A44 at the Wolvercote roundabout. 

The cyclist was taken to the JR hospital but died from his injuries and next of kin have been informed.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses, with spokesman Gareth Ford-Lloyd saying: "We are carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident on behalf of the coroner, but would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward."

No one has been arrested.
