WHILE most brides dream of posh cars or carriages to take them to their wedding, Leisa Goatley fancied something a little more muscular for her big day.

The truck enthusiast and her new husband Andy Jones arrived at their wedding reception in the village of Ducklington in a freshly polished, Scania truck adorned with flowers and white ribbon.

The couple tied the knot in front of friends and family atWitney Register Office before cruising along to the Bell pub in their home village, for the reception.

The new Mrs Jones, 41, said: "The service was lovely and quick, which was good.

"We drove through Witney and people were waving. It was brilliant. Trucks have always been in both our families so it was a no-brainer to have one at our wedding."

Mr Jones, 38, who works as a truck driver for NAP Transport, said: "It was the best wedding vehicle ever. It had a fridge full of beer in it!

"I got my boss to drive it for me. He even gave me two days off to polish the lorry."

The pair met through a family function as Mr Jones' brother is married to Mrs Jones' sister.

They were together for three years before Mr Jones' popped the question back in 2009, on Valentine's Day.

The couple, who live in Fritillary Mews in Ducklington, have five children between them; Jake, 20, Ben, 18, Jay, 13, Max, 10 and Ruby, eight.

Mrs Jones, a catering assistant at Ducklington School, added: "We had a long engagement as we wanted to wait until the kids were a bit older.

"As they are older it gets easier."

Family, friends, relatives and colleagues, enjoyed a pig roast and glasses of fizz at the reception.

The newlyweds are even planning a trip to TruckFest in West Berkshire next weekend as an unofficial honeymoon.
