A 25-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after being assaulted outside a pub in East Hagbourne last night.
Police and the ambulance service were called at around 11.30pm to Main Road, East Hagbourne near Didcot outside the Fleur de Lys pub.
The 25-year-old man had collapsed on the ground.
Officers said it is believed the man and his girlfriend intervened in a domestic incident and as a result he suffered head injuries.
The man was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital in Headington, where he is currently being treated.
A 23-year-old man from Walton-on-Thames, Surrey was arrested nearby on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody.
