1. Today's front page: Oxford East MP Andrew Smith has blasted the "scandal" of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust chief executive Katrina Percy stepping down only to be offered a newly-created role at the trust - on the same £190k salary.

The embattled health boss resigned yesterday, citing media attention as the reason her position had become "untenable".

In December last year Southern Health came under fire after NHS England's Mazars report revealed hundreds of people had died unexpectedly under its care, with only a minority of deaths investigated.

The A34 Southbound is partially blocked due to a broken-down vehicle on the A34 between Peartree and Botley Interchanges, and traffic is moving slowly due to this and roadworks at Wolvercote Roundabout.

Traffic is also queueing on the A40 Northern By Pass Road at Wolvercote Roundabout.

Elsewhere queues are also building up on the A40 at Eynsham Roundabout and on the A41 at Bicester.

3. Weather: A dry and bright start to the day but turning cloudy later.

Most places should stay dry, although the odd spot of rain will be possible by the afternoon. Maximum temperature in Oxford is 21 °C.

4. What's on: Health bosses at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will meet today to decide whether to suspend consultant-led maternity services at the Horton General Hospital. The meeting begins at 3pm at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

5. Picture of the day: Breathtaking skies above West Oxfordshire snapped by Mark Bentley on Saturday show ominous low-hanging black clouds shortly before the county was battered by heavy rain, hailstones, thunder and lightning.
