CHARITY Ace Centre has signed a five-year lease on a 3,000-square-feet unit at Abingdon Business Park.

Ace, which supports people with communication difficulties, will swap its Cassington base for the newly refurbished Park in May.

The new offices are leased at £17.25 per square foot.

Ace team leader Martin Fisher said: “As part of our contract with the NHS, which covers the Thames Valley and Wessex as well as the Isle of Wight, our new premises at Abingdon Business Park provides us with better access to our client base in the South.”

Another new tenant at Abingdon Business Park is parcel courier UPS, which has taken a 10-year lease on industrial space.

It will use the 4,000 sq ft unit, costing £8.25 per sq ft, to store and repair its vans and trucks.

And ultrafast broadband provider Gigaclear, has rented an extra 5,000 sq ft of office space on the Park.

Gigaclear’s chief financial officer Mike Surrey said: “The expansion of our network has led to an increase in staff, and to be able to expand our head office space without having to move is invaluable.”

Abingdon Business Park, which includes 50-acres of offices, R&D and industrial properties, is owned by Rockspring and managed by XLB.

More than 2,000 people work on site and other tenants include Taylor Wimpey and Howdens joinery.

Rockspring partner Richard Bains said: “Abingdon Business Park continues to go from strength to strength, with these deals reflecting the versatility of the accommodation on offer to local businesses. “
