A NEW group for business women kicks off with an event at The Ashmolean’s Roof Top restaurant next month.

Women in Business, described as a ‘relaxed networking group’ for local businesswomen, already has 50 members.

Quarterly meetings will cover issues connected to career and personal development.

The first event, on May 18, will focus on how to use social media for business and career gain.

The session will be led by guest speaker Caroline Drake of Grow With Blossom.

Ms Drake is a specialist social media consultant with experience in local and national small and medium-sized business campaigns across Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

She will offer tips on how to get good results from LinkedIn, particularly in terms of boosting business opportunities.

The new networking group is organised by Oxford Business Park-based law firm Freeths, Santander bank and Critchleys accountants which has offices in Paradise Square.

Co-founder and Freeths managing partner Sarah Foster said: “I get to meet a lot of Oxford’s senior and influential business women on a regular basis, so it made perfect sense to create a business networking group for women that will cover a variety of issues relating to career and personal development.

“Through our relationship with Santander and Critchleys, a partnership was formed with a view to reaching out to professional women in Oxford.”

The Women in Business event on May 18 runs from 8.30am to 10am. Email seminars@freeths.co.uk
