A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested following a 'high-value house burglary' in Kidlington.

Between 4.45pm and 6pm on Wednesday, April 5 a thief broke into a house in Beech Crescent by climbing through a window.

A safe full of cash and Turkish and Bulgarian jewellery and coins, including necklaces, bangles, rings and earrings, was stolen.

The thief also made off with the CCTV hard drive.

Police issued an appeal this morning. Investigating officer PC Nathan Davis of Banbury CID said: "This burglary took place at a busy time of day, and a significant amount of highly sentimental jewellery was stolen.

"The victim's house is overlooked, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this offence or who believes they have been offered any of the items for sale to please come forward."

The boy, from Bicester, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been released under investigation.
